A massive cloudburst in the Chositi area of Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, has triggered severe flash floods. The incident occurred at the starting point of the Machail Mata Yatra. Rescue operations were immediately initiated following the disaster. The Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar confirmed that rescue operations have begun. Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh reported that he had spoken with the Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, after receiving urgent information. He noted the cloudburst in Chositi could potentially cause significant casualties. The administration swiftly responded by launching rescue efforts, damage assessment, and medical management. The Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, expressed his distress over the cloudburst and issued directives to the Civil, Police, Army, NDRF, and SDRF officials to enhance rescue and relief operations.
