A fierce gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district has resulted in the injury of a paratrooper. The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Chhatru area, following a joint search operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. Acting on credible intelligence about terrorist presence, security forces initiated the operation early in the morning. As they closed in on the suspected hideout, hiding terrorists opened heavy fire, leading to an intense exchange of gunfire. The injured paratrooper received immediate medical attention and was airlifted to a military hospital in Udhampur for further treatment.
