Authorities involved in the investigation of the Kolkata law student gangrape case conducted a crime scene reconstruction on Friday. The four arrested individuals, including the prime suspect, were taken to South Calcutta Law College at approximately 4:30 AM to recreate the events of the alleged incident. This involved alumnus and contractual staff member Monojit Mishra, current students Pramit Mukherjee and Zaib Ahmed, and security guard Pinaki Banerjee. According to a police officer, the reconstruction took about five hours, after which the accused were returned to the police station. The findings will be compared with the victim’s account and other evidence. The survivor stated she and other students ‘feared’ Mishra, who was previously associated with the ruling party, alleging intimidation and harassment on campus. Mishra has a history of eleven cases, primarily related to harassment, and was out on bail. The college has since terminated Mishra’s employment. Mishra was also a former student who was rusticated in 2013. The court has extended the custody of Mishra and two students until July 8, while the security guard will remain in custody until Friday.
