Kolkata Police Apprehends Security Guard in Law Student Gang-Rape Investigation

Kolkata law enforcement officials have taken a security guard into custody on Saturday in connection with the gang-rape of a law student. This marks the fourth arrest in the ongoing investigation.

The arrest of the guard occurred two days after a law student reported being assaulted by multiple individuals within the guard room of the college premises. The 24-year-old student, originally from South 24 Parganas, provided details to the police.

The student also disclosed that she was offered a key position within the student union prior to the alleged attack. Kolkata police confirmed, "Pinaki Banerjee (55), a guard at the Law College, has also been arrested in this case."
