London has once again been crowned the world’s top city for 2025-26, marking its eleventh consecutive year at the pinnacle of global rankings. New York secured the second position, followed closely by Paris in third place. This prestigious ranking, compiled by Resonance Consultancy in partnership with Ipsos, assesses cities based on their prosperity, lovability, and liveability.
London’s consistent success is attributed to its strong performance across these key criteria, particularly its second-place ranking for lovability and third for liveability. These scores solidify London’s reputation as a premier global destination for residents and visitors alike.
The top 10 cities for 2025-26 include London, New York, Paris, Tokyo, Madrid, Singapore, Rome, Dubai, Berlin, and Barcelona. Asia is represented by Tokyo in fourth place and Singapore at sixth.
Significantly, Bangalore, India’s tech hub, has achieved the 29th spot globally, making it India’s highest-ranking city. Known as the “Silicon Valley of India,” Bangalore’s inclusion highlights its growing international influence. Other major Indian cities also featured in the rankings, with Mumbai at 40th, Delhi at 54th, and Hyderabad at 82nd.
The comprehensive evaluation analyzed over 270 cities with populations exceeding one million, considering factors such as education, culture, connectivity, nightlife, safety, cleanliness, and healthcare. Each city received a ‘Place Power Score’ derived from its liveability, lovability, and prosperity metrics, further underscoring London’s enduring global leadership and Bangalore’s rise as a leading Indian city.
