His wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, is suspected of having hired contract killers. Yadav described the incident as deeply painful and a stark lesson, emphasizing the need for careful consideration during marriage proposals. He highlighted the importance of thorough background checks and responsible decision-making when young couples travel far from home. Four suspects have been apprehended in connection with the case, and they are to be transported to Shillong following transit remand procedures. The prime suspect, Sonam Raghuvanshi, was located in Bihar and is now in police custody.
