In a bold move to combat water scarcity, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav declared a unified Shramdaan campaign spanning the entire state on Kshipra-Ganga Dashahara. The announcement came Friday during his inspection of Simhastha-2028 preparations in Ujjain, where he examined key infrastructure upgrades like road expansions and Ram Ghat enhancements. 'We're committed to development that lasts,' Yadav told reporters, outlining the June 30 collective labor drive targeting nalas, wells, bawdis, and talabs. Public participation will drive restoration efforts, building on MP's top ranking in India's water conservation league. Ujjain, revered as a cradle of history and mythology, is undergoing transformations to accommodate future pilgrims seamlessly. The CM praised the synergy between locals, officials, and elected leaders, noting his dual pride as CM and Ujjain MLA. Rooted in age-old customs like the Ganga Dashahara parikrama from Ram Ghat, this initiative revives traditions tied to 'Jal Hi Jeevan Hai' – water is life. Yadav assured close oversight on all projects for optimal, enduring benefits. As Madhya Pradesh pushes forward with eco-conscious governance, this Shramdaan pledge signals a community-led revolution in water stewardship, ensuring resources for tomorrow's generations while boosting the state's environmental credentials.
