Addressing a public rally, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee strongly criticized the central government, accusing the BJP of unjustly labeling Bengalis as Rohingyas and Bangladeshis. She declared, “We will fight inch by inch,” emphasizing her determination to resist what she perceives as unfair targeting. Banerjee questioned the BJP’s actions, pointing out the historical significance of Bengalis and their contributions to the nation, specifically referencing the national anthem. She further alleged that the BJP is removing names from voter lists ahead of elections, similar to their strategies in other states. She highlighted instances in Bihar, Maharashtra, and Delhi where such practices purportedly led to electoral victories. Banerjee vowed to oppose such tactics in West Bengal.
