The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that 1,563 Indian nationals have been deported from the United States between January 20 and July 16 of this year. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the majority of these deportations involved individuals arriving via commercial flights. The MEA also addressed the ongoing discussions regarding a potential India-US trade deal, stating that details would be shared once finalized. Furthermore, the MEA commented on the arrest of an Indian tourist for alleged shoplifting and another Indian national for alleged possession of child pornography, urging Indian citizens abroad to adhere to local laws and regulations.
