North India is bracing for significant rainfall this week, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing warnings for heavy rains across several regions. The Northwest regions, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and East Rajasthan, are expected to experience torrential downpours from June 22nd to 28th. The monsoon has already advanced into Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Kashmir, Jammu, and parts of Punjab. Delhi/NCR is also anticipated to receive intense rainfall by June 24th. The Weather Department has further alerted residents about thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall in Northeast India over the next seven days. Residents are advised to take precautions, as the monsoon may disrupt traffic and lead to waterlogging. Conditions are also becoming favorable for the advancement of the southwest monsoon over East, Central, and West India, including Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Odisha.
