The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in several Indian states. The IMD anticipates an increase in monsoon activity across the country in the coming days. The forecast indicates heavy rainfall is expected in Northwest, Central, East, and Northeast India over the next seven days.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely in many parts of Northwest India throughout the week, often accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph.
From July 1 to July 4, heavy rains are expected in certain areas of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha in East and Central India. The Vidarbha region is also expected to experience heavy rainfall on July 1 and 2. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may see intensified rainfall on June 28, and again between July 1 and 2.
Gangetic-West Bengal is anticipated to receive heavy rainfall until July 1, while similar conditions may develop in Bihar between July 1 and 4.
