Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to initiate a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the case of Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife, Sonam, who went missing in Shillong, Meghalaya. Raja was later discovered deceased, while Sonam remains unaccounted for. Yadav has stated his commitment to supporting Sonam Raghuvanshi’s family during this difficult time and has also conferred with the Chief Minister of Meghalaya. Senior police officials from Madhya Pradesh are in constant communication with their Meghalaya counterparts. The family of Raja Raghuvanshi had previously written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting a CBI investigation. The couple was last seen on May 23 during their honeymoon, and Raja’s remains were found in a gorge near Cherrapunji on June 2. Sonam’s whereabouts are still unknown, and the search continues. The brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, Vipul Raghuvanshi, has expressed the family’s desire for a CBI inquiry to bring justice and aid in finding Sonam. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has offered condolences and pledged to take all necessary actions to address the situation.
