The third National Lok Adalat of 2025 is scheduled for Saturday, September 13th, across the entire country. This legal forum offers a platform to address a wide array of cases. These include criminal compoundable offenses, cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act (Section 138), bank recovery cases, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal cases, matrimonial disputes, and labor disputes. Additionally, it covers land acquisition cases, electricity and water bill disputes (excluding non-compoundable theft cases), service matters related to pay, allowances, and retirement benefits, and revenue and other civil cases, such as rent disputes. Lok Adalat aims to provide accessible legal relief, functioning as a Jan Adalat for the general public. It facilitates the settlement of pending legal matters and disputes through mutual consent. Traffic challans can also be resolved here. The forum will address family matters like property acquisition, financial disputes, and marital issues. The Lok Adalat is held in district courts, taluka-level courts, labor and industrial courts, family courts, consumer forums, and various other tribunals. Citizens with pending cases can submit applications to the relevant courts to have their cases considered.
