The upcoming elections in Bihar are witnessing intense activity. All parties are striving to strengthen their positions and secure votes. In this context, it has emerged that the NDA’s new election slogan for the Bihar Assembly elections will be ‘Bihar, which has caught the pace of development…NDA Government Again.’ BJP sources indicate that this slogan will be officially launched by September 30th. However, the politics and intentions behind it are clearly understood from the prepared slogan.
With the tagline “Bihar, which has caught the pace of development…NDA Government Again”, the NDA alliance is entering the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Some leaders of the Bihar BJP, particularly Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde, have already started promoting this line on their social media handles, although an official announcement is still pending.
**245 LED Raths Prepared for Election Campaign**
According to BJP sources, the aim is to gain the trust of the people of the state by highlighting the development in Bihar during the NDA regime, especially regarding infrastructure such as roads, education, good governance, employment, and the education system. Continuing with their focus on development, the NDA has prepared a massive fleet of 245 LED raths for the assembly election campaign.
These high-tech raths will be flagged off by a senior central minister by September 30th, and will travel to all assembly constituencies in the state. Equipped with modern technology, these LED raths will reach every village across the state to promote the achievements and recent promises of the Bihar government.
**Raths to be Rallied in Every Assembly**
BJP spokesperson Prabhakar Mishra stated that “Bihar has caught the pace of development, therefore the NDA government is coming again. The NDA will run the raths in every assembly for the election campaign, which will publicize the achievements and promises of the NDA government”. The BJP says that audio-visuals will be played in the election campaign raths, highlighting issues such as 125 units of free electricity, doubling the pension of the elderly and women, and increased honorarium for Anganwadi workers, which these raths will take to every home.
In fact, the Bihar government is entering the field by making its work an electoral weapon. According to sources, the audio-visuals to be played in these campaign raths will mention all the important works of the Bihar and central governments. For instance, the Bihar government is going to deposit Rs 10,000 in the accounts of women in the next few days in September.
On September 17th, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar transferred Rs 5,000 to the accounts of 16 lakh workers. In addition, the Bihar government will fully focus on its popular works and promises such as 1 crore jobs for the youth, a Rs 1,000 allowance for all graduates, interest-free student credit cards, and Rs 10,000 for women.
**What is the JDU’s stand?**
While the BJP is preparing to make the NDA’s development model the biggest electoral weapon with the new slogan and rath yatra, the JDU has not yet responded on this subject. Previously, JDU has always kept its election campaign around the name of CM Nitish Kumar. This time there is a picture of PM Modi and CM Nitish in the election, but the name of the Chief Minister is not there.
In April of this year, when there was doubt and controversy over continuing Nitish Kumar as the Chief Minister, a new slogan was put up outside the JDU office: “25 to 30, Nitish again.” In the 2020 elections, JDU’s slogan was – “Why consider, Nitish Kumar is fine.” While in the 2015 assembly elections, JDU’s slogan was “Bihar is prosperous, Nitish Kumar is there”. It remains to be seen what the JDU’s reaction is to the NDA’s new slogan. Is this slogan a well-thought-out strategic part of future politics or a political party test?
