Bihar witnessed a significant infrastructural advancement as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Kacchi Dargah-Bidupur Bridge on Monday. This six-lane bridge, spanning the Ganges, is designed to foster regional development by connecting previously isolated areas like Diyara Jalla directly with Patna. The project, initiated a decade ago, has completed its first phase, marking a crucial milestone in Bihar’s infrastructure journey. Minister of Road Construction, Nitin Nabin, lauded the Chief Minister’s vision, highlighting the transformative impact on previously underserved regions. Local residents expressed their elation, emphasizing the bridge’s ability to eliminate travel hardships and drastically reduce commute times. The 9.76 km long bridge links NH 31 to NH 322, improving traffic flow and alleviating congestion on existing routes like the Mahatma Gandhi Setu. Full operational status is anticipated by July 2025. Plans for another bridge between Arrah and Chhapra are also underway, promising further expansion of the state’s highway network.
