No Leadership Shift in Karnataka, Says KN Rajanna

In a strong rebuttal to swirling political rumors, Karnataka Congress legislator KN Rajanna declared on Tuesday that there is absolutely no question of replacing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Addressing journalists at Bengaluru airport, the Madhugiri MLA and former minister insisted that no such proposal had even been floated within party circles. Rajanna suggested that the flurry of meetings in Delhi was connected to routine political housekeeping, including preparations for Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections as well as possible cabinet adjustments. He pointed out that while some colleagues may have traveled north with personal ambitions, he himself has no interest in contesting for higher positions. The Congress veteran recalled attending an international cooperative banking conference in New York six months ago and contrasted that with the current rush of leaders heading to the capital. He said any speculation about leadership change lacks foundation and that the Chief Minister would clarify matters upon his return from Delhi. Rajanna also addressed questions about accepting a ministerial post, stating he would welcome the responsibility but feels no disappointment if it does not materialize. His comments align with statements from senior Congress figures who maintained that the all-day deliberations at Indira Bhawan focused strictly on electoral strategy rather than internal power dynamics.
