Authorities in Noida have arrested Abhinav Tyagi, a former employee of a private company, for allegedly orchestrating a Goods and Services Tax (GST) fraud totaling Rs 1.8 crore. Tyagi, a resident of Greater Noida’s Bisrakh area, is accused of generating approximately Rs 10 crore worth of fake invoices to unlawfully claim the tax credit. Employed within the company’s accounts department, Tyagi exploited his position to manipulate GST and tax return filings. Police investigations suggest he acted in concert with an accomplice. Recovered from the accused were multiple mobile phones, SIM cards, a laptop, a car, pertinent GST documents, and a rent agreement. Following his arrest, Tyagi was presented in court and subsequently remanded to jail. Law enforcement is actively pursuing the apprehension of his still-at-large accomplice.
