The Indian Air Force (IAF) is preparing for a significant military exercise in northeast India, scheduled from November 13 to November 20. This large-scale operation will feature a comprehensive deployment of key assets, including advanced fighter aircraft, vital air defense units, and integrated defense systems. To ensure the safety of all air traffic during this period, a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued, covering the entire northeastern airspace.
The primary objective of this upcoming drill is to rigorously evaluate the IAF’s operational readiness and its capacity for swift responses along India’s sensitive northeastern borders, which are adjacent to China, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Bangladesh. The exercise is expected to showcase the capabilities of a wide array of frontline fighter jets, such as the Sukhoi-30 MKI, Rafale, Mirage-2000, Tejas, and Jaguar. The drills are designed to simulate real-world scenarios, enhancing preparedness for any eventuality in this strategically important region.
