The Monsoon Session of Parliament is scheduled to commence on Monday, July 21, 2025, and will conclude on Thursday, August 21, 2025, subject to government business. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media ahead of the session. The session will span 32 days and include a total of 21 sittings. Both Houses will adjourn on August 12, 2025, to reconvene on August 18, 2025, for Independence Day celebrations. The government plans to introduce several bills, including amendments to the Goods and Services Tax, Jan Vishwas Act, Indian Institutes of Management Act, and various taxation and environmental bills. Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju stated the government is prepared to discuss important issues. The session will also see the tabling of 15 bills, including discussions on financial grants for Manipur. The Opposition has requested discussions on the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, Bihar Special Intensive Revision (SIR), and the Air India (AI) 171 crash.
