Pilgrims Praise Delhi’s New Kavad Shelter for Continuous Meals and Health Support

A freshly erected Kavad shelter in Seelampur is drawing accolades from Saavn pilgrims across India. Launched by the Kavad Seva Samiti and named after the founder Lala Murli Dhar, the camp serves as Delhi's premier facility for pilgrims carrying holy water to Shiva shrines. The shelter operates 24 hours a day, providing hot meals, tea, and snacks without interruption. Security arrangements feature Delhi Police personnel and a permanent presence of CRPF troops, while an SHO monitors the site for any emergencies. Health services are robust, with a medical team delivering primary care, essential drugs, and regular health checks. "The medical assistance here is unparalleled," said a devotee who began his journey on 31 July from Haridwar. Another pilgrim added, "All necessary facilities are in place, making the trek comfortable." The Saavn Yatra 2026 commenced on 30 July, reaches its zenith on Shivratri (11 August) with Ganga‑water ablutions on Shiva lingams, and concludes on 28 August as the month draws to an end.
