During the G7 Outreach Session held in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed pressing global challenges, including terrorism, conflicts, and the rise of deepfakes. He emphasized India’s commitment to representing the priorities of the Global South on the world stage. Modi strongly condemned terrorism, calling it an enemy of humanity and advocating for clear policies to achieve global peace. He highlighted the need for consistent standards in addressing terrorism, referencing the Pahalgam terror attack as an attack on all of humanity. Furthermore, Modi pointed out that some nations are rewarded for supporting terrorism, while the Global South bears the brunt of crises related to food, fuel, fertilizer, and finance. He also addressed the growing concern of deepfakes, advocating for watermarks or clear declarations on AI-generated content. Modi concluded by stressing the importance of energy security through sustainable and green pathways, showcasing India’s global initiatives like ISA, CDRI, and the Global Biofuels Alliance.
