During a recent NDA parliamentary party meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other leaders, discussed various issues. CP Radhakrishnan, the NDA’s candidate for Vice President, was also present. Following the meeting, sources revealed that PM Modi commented on the Indus Waters Treaty, stating that former PM Nehru had once divided the country, and then did so again. He highlighted that 80% of the water was given to Pakistan under the treaty. Modi mentioned that Nehru later acknowledged his mistake through his secretary, admitting it had no benefit. The Prime Minister characterized the agreement as anti-farmer. Furthermore, PM Modi introduced CP Radhakrishnan, the NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate, as a grassroots leader from the OBC community. He humorously recalled their long-standing friendship, dating back to when they both had black hair. The Prime Minister also criticized the Congress, stating that those who today invoke the constitution never truly adhered to it. He emphasized that the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan was undertaken by Nehru without Cabinet consent and that his administration is working to correct Nehru’s past errors. The Prime Minister stated that his government would ensure justice for farmers regarding the Indus treaty.
