Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated the heroes of the Santhal Revolution on Hul Diwas. He recognized the bravery of leaders like Sido-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav, and Phoolo-Jhano, who fought against foreign rule. On social media, Modi highlighted the courage of the tribal community and the significance of the historic Santhal Revolution. He paid tribute to the heroes who sacrificed their lives, emphasizing their inspirational legacy for future generations. The Hul Kranti Diwas, observed nationally on June 30, commemorates the revolutionaries who resisted British rule. The 1855 revolt, led by Sidhu-Kanho and Chand-Bhairav, saw around 50,000 tribals protesting against exploitative practices. Meanwhile, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey criticized the Jharkhand government, alleging an attack on the descendants of Sido Kano during the Hul Diwas celebrations. He accused the government of targeting innocent people and questioned their respect for the tribal community’s contribution to India’s independence.
