Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Semicon India 2025 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. This event is designed to catalyze and strengthen the semiconductor industry within the nation. The three-day conference, scheduled from September 2 to 4, focuses on developing a sustainable, robust, and resilient semiconductor sector. Addressing the gathering, PM Modi made a lighthearted remark. He highlighted the world’s confidence in India, its belief in India’s potential, and its readiness to collaborate with India in shaping the future of semiconductors. He also noted the significant investment of over Rs 1.5 lakh crore in ten semiconductor projects, a clear demonstration of the global trust in India’s capabilities. The implementation of the National Single Window System was mentioned, streamlining approvals from both central and state levels, thus easing paperwork for investors. PM Modi expressed India’s readiness to welcome investors and envisioned a future where products are ‘Designed in India, Made in India, Trusted by the World’. He emphasized India’s shift towards becoming a full-stack semiconductor nation and expressed optimism about India’s ability to drive significant global change with its semiconductor technology.
