Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana’ on Friday, announcing a new initiative to support youth employment. Under this scheme, individuals securing their first job in the private sector will receive ₹15,000 from the central government. The program, valued at ₹1 lakh crore, is slated to take immediate effect and is projected to benefit over 3.5 crore individuals. Modi made this announcement during his Independence Day address at the Red Fort, highlighting the government’s commitment to job creation and economic growth. The Prime Minister also mentioned that companies generating more employment opportunities would receive incentives. Further, he shared that two crore women have become ‘lakhpati didis’ and that farmers contribute greatly to the economy. Additionally, Modi announced forthcoming GST reforms, which are anticipated to reduce the tax burden and simplify the system.
