Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached out to the opposition, seeking their support for CP Radhakrishnan, the NDA’s chosen candidate for the Vice President position. Modi emphasized the importance of the upcoming Rajya Sabha chairman election, highlighting that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is in ongoing discussions with leaders from all political parties. Describing Radhakrishnan as a respected and experienced public servant, Modi appealed to all parties to unite behind him, aiming to reinforce confidence in the NDA’s candidate. This appeal follows the BJP Parliamentary Board’s decision to nominate Radhakrishnan, a move welcomed by many NDA leaders, although the opposition India Bloc has yet to finalize its stance. Following the NDA’s Parliamentary Party meeting, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju confirmed Modi’s appeal to all MPs, including those from the Opposition, to support Radhakrishnan in the upcoming Vice Presidential elections.
