In Karur, Tamil Nadu, posters depicting Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay with bloodstained hands appeared, sparking outrage. The posters, attributed to the Tamil Nadu Students Union, were swiftly removed. Simultaneously, Vijay held a video conference with senior leaders to discuss the aftermath of a stampede at his campaign rally. The tragic event resulted in 41 fatalities, including men, women, and children. The crowd at the rally had reportedly become chaotic, leading to the stampede. Vijay announced financial aid for the bereaved families and injured individuals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin declared additional compensation for the victims.
