Vrindavan’s beloved spiritual leader, Premanand Maharaj Ji, is currently facing significant health challenges. For the past three days, devotees have noted his absence from his customary early morning foot pilgrimage around the holy city. An official statement from the Shri Kali Kunj Ashram has confirmed that his daily ‘padyatra’ has been suspended indefinitely due to pressing health concerns.
Reports indicate that the Maharaj, known for his profound spiritual discourses and accessible guidance, has been diagnosed with kidney failure. This condition affects both of his kidneys, which are reportedly not functioning adequately. Despite the severity of his diagnosis, Premanand Maharaj Ji remains committed to his spiritual duties and engaging with his followers. A recent video shared online showed the saint with visibly swollen eyes and a red, puffy face, reflecting his ongoing health struggles.
Sources close to the ashram suggest that Premanand Maharaj Ji has been managing kidney issues for approximately 18 years. Until recently, he was undergoing dialysis five times a week at his residence, a frequency that has now escalated to a daily necessity. Nevertheless, the Maharaj has reassured his devotees that he is not in the ICU and urged them to disregard any false information circulating on social media. He continues to wake at 2 AM for his parikrama and conduct satsangs, drawing strength from devotion and meditation, particularly through chanting ‘Radha’. His diet has been significantly restricted due to his medical condition, yet his spirit remains undeterred, inspiring millions with his resilience and unwavering faith.
