Pune Police conducted a raid on a private apartment, uncovering a ‘drug party’ and making several arrests. Among those apprehended was Pranjal Khewalkar, the son-in-law of former Maharashtra minister Eknath Khadse. The raid resulted in the seizure of drugs, hookah sets, and liquor. The seven individuals arrested, including Khewalkar, have been remanded to police custody until July 29. Pranjal Khewalkar is married to Rohini Khadse, who holds the position of state president in the NCP women’s wing under Sharad Pawar’s faction. Khewalkar is a businessman, social worker, and doctor, as per his Instagram profile. He is also a multifaceted entrepreneur and producer with business interests in sugar, energy, and event management. The police found 2.7 grams of a cocaine-like substance, 70 grams of a marijuana-like substance, a hookah pot, hookah flavors and liquor bottles during the raid. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis stated he would comment after receiving a proper briefing.
