Radhakrishnan’s Southern Sojourn: Temple, Tech & Statehood Events

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan is set to undertake an extensive three-day visit covering Karnataka, Goa, and Kerala from 29 May. The programme mixes high-profile public events with quiet cultural observances. Friday’s schedule opens with the 45th anniversary celebrations of the Art of Living Foundation in Bengaluru, followed by the platinum jubilee of BDT College of Engineering in Davanagere. Both events underscore the administration’s focus on education and spiritual well-being. On Saturday, attention shifts to Goa’s Statehood Day ceremony in Panaji. The Vice President will also tour the National Institute of Oceanography, reinforcing the government’s commitment to marine science and coastal development. Sunday features a spiritual stop at the revered Dharmasthala temple, after which the Vice President will inaugurate the Siri Industrial Park in Belthangady. The final leg takes him to Kerala, where he will flag off Deepika newspaper’s 140-year celebrations in Kottayam and attend a private programme in Kannur. Observers note that the packed itinerary reflects New Delhi’s continued outreach to southern states through both ceremonial and developmental engagements.
