A demonstration erupted during Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Raebareli, his parliamentary constituency. BJP leader Dinesh Pratap Singh, along with hundreds of supporters, protested, attempting to block Gandhi’s convoy. The protesters, including the state minister, sat on the road, chanting slogans and demanding Gandhi’s return, leading to a clash between police and BJP workers. The incident occurred in the Harchandpur police station area, near the Mahavir Degree College, where the minister and supporters staged a sit-in on the Lucknow-Prayagraj National Highway. The police struggled to disperse the demonstrators. Singh criticized Gandhi, demanding an apology from Gandhi for remarks made regarding Prime Minister Modi’s late mother. The BJP workers’ demand was for Rahul Gandhi to apologize to the mothers of the nation. Gandhi’s convoy was delayed for a few minutes before he proceeded to Bachhrawan town, where he was greeted by Congress workers. He then headed to the Harchandpur assembly, where he planned to meet with booth-level officials and workers at the Batoohi Resort. Rahul Gandhi declared, ‘Vote thief, quit the throne’ as the party’s slogan.
