In Jaisalmer, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma participated in a state-level yoga event on International Yoga Day. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in promoting the ancient Indian practice worldwide. Sharma emphasized the theme of the day, ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health,’ highlighting the connection between humans and the environment. He stated that yoga represents harmony and provides a holistic approach to health and well-being. The state government is actively working towards improving both individual and environmental health.
The Chief Minister described yoga as a gift from Indian civilization, a holistic way of life uniting body, mind, intellect, and soul. He noted that yoga offers a healthy life amid modern challenges. Sharma emphasized that yoga is rooted in India’s ancient culture, with Lord Shiva as the first teacher and sages like Maharishi Patanjali establishing it as a knowledge tradition.
He credited PM Modi for the global celebration of Yoga Day, attributing it to his proposal at the UN, which led to the declaration of June 21 as International Yoga Day. Sharma praised Modi for spreading Indian cultural values worldwide. He also acknowledged Modi’s contributions to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the revamp of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor, the Mahakal Lok in Ujjain, the Char Dham project, and the transformation of pilgrimage sites like Kedarnath and Badrinath. The Rajasthan government is also developing religious sites, including Tanot Mata Temple and Ramdevra Temple. Sharma concluded that under Modi’s leadership, India has emerged as a spiritual, economic, and military power.
