Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma participated in a state-level yoga event in Jaisalmer on International Yoga Day. He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in promoting the ancient Indian practice worldwide. Sharma emphasized the theme of Yoga Day, ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health,’ highlighting the connection between humans and the environment. He stated that yoga promotes harmony between humans and nature, offering a holistic approach to well-being. Sharma said the state government is committed to improving individual and environmental health. He described yoga as a gift from Indian civilization, a holistic way of life uniting body, mind, intellect, and soul, and guiding people through challenges. Sharma noted yoga’s roots in India’s ancient culture, with Lord Shiva as the first teacher and figures like Maharishi Patanjali contributing to its knowledge tradition. The Chief Minister credited PM Modi for the global celebration of Yoga Day, owing to his proposal at the UN. He also praised PM Modi for spreading Indian cultural values globally and for initiatives like the Ram Temple, Kashi Vishwanath corridor revamp, and other projects. The Rajasthan government is developing religious sites, and Sharma stated that under PM Modi’s leadership, India has emerged as a spiritual, economic, and military power, including the recent Operation Sindoor. He mentioned plans to divert water from the Indus and Chenab rivers to Rajasthan, impacting Pakistan.
