Rajasthan Orders Tightened Security and Cyber Vigilance Before Diwali
Rajasthan’s top leadership has called for an all-out security drive across the state as Diwali and its associated festivals approach. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma directed police commanders and district magistrates to fortify public order protocols in response to expected crowd surges during Dhanteras, Govardhan Puja, and Bhai Dooj.
The chief minister presided over a strategic security summit, noting that festive periods heavily tax law enforcement capacity. He instructed senior bureaucrats and police chiefs to visit patrol zones directly, verify operational readiness, and guarantee unhindered public movement. Emergency response teams were told to act without hesitation.
Strategic deployments have been ordered at shopping districts, sacred sites, transit terminals, and leisure destinations. Officers must increase visible policing, expand night walks, and operate rigorous roadblocks. Continuous security coverage in historically vulnerable neighborhoods will remain a priority.
Anti-drug operations will be sharply intensified. Law enforcement agencies are tasked with profiling and neutralizing trafficking networks that attempt to leverage festive mobility. Real-time monitoring of illicit substance distribution is mandatory.
With digital commerce peaking during the festival week, cyber defense protocols have been elevated. Specialized cyber units must staff 24-hour war rooms, expedite complaint resolutions, and proactively track digital criminal networks. Preventive cybersecurity campaigns will be rolled out to shield citizens from fraud.
Maintaining religious and social harmony remains a core directive. Police will closely track sensitive localities and scan digital platforms for fabricated news or incendiary messaging. Coordinated action between field units and cyber analysts will be implemented to suppress harmful online content.
Grassroots coordination is also emphasized. Commanders must convene with local welfare groups, youth organizations, and neighborhood watch volunteers to address rumors early and sustain public confidence. Local crime datasets will be thoroughly reviewed to design area-specific intervention strategies.
Traffic control measures will be strictly applied to manage retail congestion. Authorities must designate parking facilities, liaise with market associations, and preserve unobstructed emergency access routes. Marketplace surveillance networks must operate continuously.
Fireworks retail businesses will undergo mandatory safety audits. Illegal manufacturing and stockpiling will be aggressively targeted, while municipal fire services in commercial zones must maintain full operational readiness for instant emergency dispatch.
The chief minister lauded the Kalika Patrol divisions for their measurable impact on women’s safety and cited overwhelming positive feedback from the public. These specialized teams continue to play a vital role in reducing gender-targeted offenses and empowering female citizens.
Rajasthan’s prime tourist corridors are preparing for a heavy influx of domestic and foreign travelers. Police strength at heritage attractions will be reinforced, and visitor amenities will be upgraded. Officials were directed to prioritize guest comfort and safety, ensuring every traveler leaves with a favorable view of the state’s infrastructure and hospitality.
