Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held discussions with his Chinese counterpart, Admiral Dong Jun, on the sidelines of the SCO Defence Ministers’ Meeting in Qingdao, China. Singh emphasized the importance of maintaining the positive momentum in bilateral relations and avoiding new complexities. The meeting saw a ‘constructive and forward-looking exchange of views’ on various issues. Singh also expressed his happiness at the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
On a separate occasion, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, reviewing recent developments in India-China relations. They underscored the need to promote overall development of bilateral ties, including greater people-to-people connections. During their meeting, Doval emphasized the importance of countering terrorism to maintain regional peace and stability. Discussions also covered other bilateral, regional, and global topics of mutual interest.
