Red Fort Hosts Historic Tribal Summit with Amit Shah as Chief Guest

Sunday’s ‘Janjati Sanskritik Samagam’ at Delhi’s Red Fort promises to be both a cultural spectacle and a moment of national recognition. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will preside over the event that commemorates the 150th anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Roughly 1.5 lakh delegates representing 550 tribal groups are expected to participate in a day-long programme of folk dances, traditional music and craft exhibitions. Ahead of the main function, organisers held a preparatory meeting at Shyam Giri temple to fine-tune participation, transport and security protocols. The Janjatiya Suraksha Manch, the body behind the summit, aims to spotlight tribal contributions to India’s freedom struggle and contemporary development. Special emphasis is being placed on logistics: twenty departments are managing accommodation, food, drinking water and healthcare for guests travelling from distant states. Cultural troupes will march through the capital in full regalia, converging at the Red Fort for an afternoon of performances and award presentations. Observers say the scale of participation marks a new chapter in how tribal heritage is presented on the national stage.
