Retired Officers Honored for Civic Contributions

In a separate ceremony, the Army chief presented the Yoddha Seva Samman to several retired officers for their work in society. Major General Harsh Kakar (Retd.), Colonel Arvind Singh Kushwaha (Retd.), Naib Subedar Radheshyam (Retd.) and Captain‑Major Vijay Kumar (Retd.) received the award.

The citation recognised their efforts in education, health, environment, agriculture, sports and veterans’ welfare. The honour reflects the continued commitment of former service members to nation‑building even after active duty.

The ceremony reinforced the Army’s belief that service to the country extends beyond the uniform and that civilian contributions by ex‑militaries are vital for a resilient nation.
