The ‘Voter Rights March’ in Bihar, organized by the Mahagathbandhan, has seen the participation of several prominent Congress leaders. Rahul Gandhi himself has been actively involved in the march. On its tenth day, Priyanka Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy joined the event. This has drawn sharp criticism from Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor.
Prashant Kishor stated, “If the Congress, Rahul Gandhi, and the alliance have brought Revanth Reddy to Bihar for campaigning, it reflects their perspective on Bihar. Revanth Reddy is the same individual who claimed that the people of Bihar are inherently predisposed to labor.”
He further added that if the Congress is featuring such a person on their Bihar platform, every individual in Bihar has a responsibility to ensure he is sent back to Telangana. This would serve as a reminder that if the people of Bihar are meant only for labor, why is he seeking votes there?
In a previous post on X, Prashant Kishor wrote, “Revanth says that the DNA of Biharis is for labor. Rahul Gandhi is parading him on the Bihar stage, which shows his anti-Bihar mindset. If Revanth comes to the village, the public will chase him away with sticks and batons.”
The controversy stems from a statement made by Telangana CM Revanth Reddy two years ago. Prashant Kishor has highlighted this statement, calling it an insult to the people of Bihar. In December 2024, Reddy criticized the then-Chief Minister KCR, stating, “My DNA is from Telangana, KCR’s DNA is from Bihar. Telangana’s DNA is better than Bihar’s.”
This statement by Reddy caused a major uproar. Various political parties protested against it, with BJP leaders labeling it as casteist and divisive. The inclusion of Reddy in the Voter Rights March has reignited this controversy.
