Following her dramatic exit from politics and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Rohini Acharya has made startling accusations regarding her treatment within her father’s political party. In a social media post on Sunday, Acharya, who was previously an RJD candidate from Saran, detailed experiences of verbal abuse and threats of physical violence. She stated that she was subjected to ‘filthy abuses’ and had a slipper raised at her, implying these insults were a consequence of her refusal to compromise her self-respect and the truth. Acharya further described a painful departure from her family, feeling ‘orphaned’ and forcibly removed from her ‘maternal home’. She expressed a wish that no other family would have to endure a daughter-sister’s plight like hers. Adding to the controversy, Acharya also addressed allegations that her father’s kidney transplant was financially motivated. She claimed she was accused of receiving ‘crores of rupees’ for the procedure and using it to secure a political ticket. She advised married daughters and sisters not to rely solely on male relatives for such matters, suggesting they encourage brothers to arrange their own or associates’ kidneys for transplants. These explosive claims emerged just a day after Acharya announced her resignation from politics and disowned her family, attributing these decisions to individuals named Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. Speaking to reporters, she implicated Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, and Rameez in her ousting, stating they ‘threw me out’ and avoided responsibility for the party’s significant defeat in the recent Bihar Assembly elections.
