Govind, the brother of Sonam Raghuvanshi, revealed his emotional response upon receiving a call from his sister after a separation of over two weeks. Sonam was located near a roadside eatery on the Varanasi-Ghazipur highway in Uttar Pradesh. She was initially taken to Sadar Hospital for medical attention and subsequently transferred to the Sakhi One Stop Centre. Meghalaya’s Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, mentioned that while others were apprehended in a late-night operation, Sonam had surrendered.
Govind chose not to comment further on the case against his sister. However, he described Sonam’s condition during their call. He stated that he informed the authorities after speaking with her, and she was safely taken into custody. He recounted, “When she called me, I got emotional, and later informed the police. Until I meet her (Sonam), I cannot say anything. For the last 72 hours, I have been awake. It’s been 20 days since I met her.”
