State Government Mobilises Aid for Crop‑Stricken Farmers in Dhondvavarnagar

Nasik, September 24 – In a bid to curb the growing distress among cultivators, the Maharashtra state government dispatched Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bhirane to Dhondvavarnagar, Sinner taluka, for a ground‑level inspection of recent crop damage.

The minister, accompanied by MLA Advocate Manikrao Kokate, Agriculture Commissioner Suraj Mande and District Agriculture Officer Ravindra Mane, walked through the affected fields, noted the loss of standing crops, and engaged in a detailed dialogue with the farmers.

According to Bhirane, the combined effect of abnormal monsoon rainfall and the lingering influence of the El Niño phenomenon has triggered a natural calamity in several parts of the state. He affirmed that the administration is fully aware of the farmers’ plight and has already set in motion a series of measures to provide immediate relief.

Key steps announced include: - Completion of a comprehensive Panchanama and loss‑assessment report within the next two days. - Issuance of an official notification by Saturday to unlock state‑funded assistance. - Direct outreach by department officials to each affected household to verify eligibility and prevent any exclusion from welfare schemes.

The minister stressed that the Chief Minister and deputy chief ministers have also undertaken field visits across the region to ensure coordinated action. He warned that any bank interfering with the swift transfer of funds under programmes such as the Ahilya Devi Holkar Farmer Debt Waiver Scheme will face strict penalties.

“Farmers are at the centre of our relief effort,” Bhirane concluded. “We will leave no stone unturned to restore their livelihoods and compensate for the losses incurred due to this unprecedented weather event.”
