Strong Winds and Downpours Predicted Across Western Ghats Region

A weak low‑level atmospheric flow over northern Tamil Nadu's coastal strip is set to trigger strong winds and heavy rain across the Western Ghats and surrounding districts. The weather bureau notes that the pattern may persist through the weekend, with Saturday bringing localized heavy showers to Theni, Tenkasi and parts of Tirunelveli. Meanwhile, Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Ranipet and Vellore are likely to see moderate rain extending to Sunday.
