A significant cabinet meeting led by the Uttar Pradesh government, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, took place on Thursday. The meeting saw the approval of several crucial proposals related to education, water supply, and economic development. A total of 19 proposals were passed during the meeting, including the establishment of private universities and a scholarship scheme for meritorious students in the state. All cabinet ministers and state ministers were present.
The cabinet also discussed the flood situation. Among the key decisions made was the approval of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-Chevening Scholarship Scheme, in collaboration with The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the UK.
Under this scheme, 5 meritorious students will be awarded scholarships each year to pursue Master’s degrees at recognized universities in the UK. The cost per student will be approximately 38,000 to 42,000 pounds, with half the expense borne by the UP government and the remainder by the UK institution.
