BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has strongly criticized the Congress leadership for its response to the corruption case involving Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Trivedi accused the Congress of prioritizing political motives over ethical conduct. Speaking at a press conference, he questioned the party’s unusual eagerness to defend the alleged irregularities. He highlighted that the defense of the accused was unprecedented, contrasting it with the past when Rahul Gandhi spoke in support of his brother-in-law. Trivedi demanded the Congress explain its vested interest in this alleged corruption case, suspecting that the scandal’s scope might extend beyond Bhupesh Baghel’s family. He broadened his criticism to include other Congress-ruled states, alleging a pattern of corruption accusations in Karnataka and Telangana. The Enforcement Directorate recently arrested Chaitanya Baghel in connection with the multi-crore liquor scam, following raids at his residence.
