The Supreme Court is scheduled to conduct a detailed hearing today on petitions filed regarding the Special Intense Review (SIR). The bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and Justice Joymallya Bagchi will preside over the hearings. Petitions have been submitted to the Supreme Court by ADR and various opposition political parties concerning SIR. The bench will also consider ADR’s application, which requests the provision of a list of 65 lakh voters removed from the draft list. The Election Commission has rejected this request in an affidavit, citing rules. Simultaneously, a bike rally of Members of Parliament is planned today under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program initiated by the central government. The rally will commence at 8 AM from Pragati Maidan, proceed through India Gate, Kartavya Path, and conclude at Major Dhyanchand Stadium. Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, has invited all MPs to participate in the bike rally. Furthermore, according to the Indian Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected to continue in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh today. A red alert has been issued for Uttarakhand, while an orange alert has been issued for Himachal Pradesh due to the likelihood of rain.
