Supreme Court Urged to Intervene in EC Internal Dispute

National President of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, has appealed to the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognizance of the internal conflict within the Election Commission. Citing the fourteen recorded objections by Commissioners Sandhu and Joshi, Yadav warned that the inability of the commission's members to operate independently poses a grave danger to democratic processes. He described the situation as a constitutional offence that threatens the very fabric of India's democracy and urged the apex court to act promptly.
