BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari has criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for what he calls a ‘Bhasha Aandolan’ (language movement) designed to obstruct the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Addressing a gathering, Adhikari alleged Banerjee’s actions were a ploy. He further labeled her as a protector of Bangladeshi Muslims, claiming her vote bank includes infiltrators and Rohingyas. This statement came in response to Banerjee’s earlier remarks criticizing the Election Commission of India (ECI) for removing voters from the rolls in Bihar and expressing concerns about similar actions in West Bengal.
