Tamil Nadu Braces for Heavy Showers in Multiple Districts

Tamil Nadu is set to receive significant rainfall over the next few days as a result of atmospheric circulation over the southeast and adjoining central Bay of Bengal. The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued alerts for ten districts, forecasting heavy to very heavy rain that could disrupt daily life and pose flood risks in several areas. Sunday’s forecast highlights potential downpours in Nilgiris, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupattur, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, and Namakkal. Additional districts including Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Ranipet, Perambalur, Trichy, Karur, Dindigul, Theni, and Madurai may also witness intense rainfall through the coming week. State authorities have asked people living in low-lying and hilly regions to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel. Emergency teams are on standby to respond to any flooding or landslide incidents. While temperatures are expected to remain near normal, the persistent cloud cover and rainfall are likely to provide relief from the summer heat. In Chennai, residents can expect partly cloudy skies with spells of light to moderate rain, particularly in the evenings. Officials continue to emphasize the importance of staying informed through official channels and taking preventive measures to minimize weather-related risks.
