Tarn Taran SSP Suspended Over Poll Interference

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has taken decisive action, suspending Tarn Taran Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Ravjot Kaur Grewal. The suspension is reportedly due to alleged interference in the upcoming November 11 assembly byelection in Punjab. In response, Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has been handed the additional responsibility of Tarn Taran SSP, effective immediately. This move by the ECI signals a strict stance against any attempts to influence electoral processes. The apex poll body confirmed the suspension, stating that the Tarn Taran SSP was removed for interfering with the bypoll, with the CP Amritsar taking over the charge.
