Senior BJP leader Tarun Chugh has hailed the Falta bypoll outcome as proof that West Bengal is turning its back on Mamata Banerjee’s brand of politics. Speaking to the media, he said the people have made it clear they will not accept the culture of threats, violence and syndicate control that TMC has normalised over the years. Chugh described the win as historic because it shattered the myth of TMC’s invincibility in what was once considered a safe seat. He pointed out that despite alleged attempts at voter intimidation, residents turned out in large numbers to support the BJP, indicating a decisive shift in public sentiment. The leader also criticised the state government for ignoring central guidelines on illegal immigration, accusing it of deliberately weakening Bengal’s demographic and security balance. He warned that the new political reality will force TMC to confront its shrinking support base across the state. Chugh concluded that the Falta verdict marks the start of a broader transformation that could reshape Bengal’s political landscape in the coming years.
